Feinstein's at the Nikko and SHN present Songs for a Day Off, a one-night-only cabaret featuring songs and stories by cast members of the national tour of Les Misérables.
All ticket proceeds benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, helping to ensure the most vulnerable among us in all 50 states receive lifesaving medication, healthy meals, counseling, and emergency assistance.
Guests will also have the opportunity to bid on unique and one-of-a-kind merchandise from Les Misérables, as well as gift certificates from Feinstein's at the Nikko.
Dave Damiani and the No Vacancy Orchestra are joined onstage by America's Got Talent winner Landau Murphy Jr. for "Sinatra Standing Room Only." Damiani's most recent release, #Bending the Standard, can be heard on XM71 Siriusly Sinatra.
He performs often in Atlantic City, New York, Palm Beach, Palm Springs, and Las Vegas, as well as his hometown Los Angeles where other Feinstein's at the Nikko favorites like Steve Tyrell and Spencer Day have been his special guests.
Dave Damiani, Landau Murphy, and the No Vacancy Orchestra return to Feinstein's at the Nikko after a sold-out performance on the 99th birthday of Frank Sinatra, December 12, 2014.
Broadway veteran David Burnham (Wicked) makes his Feinstein's at the Nikko debut with Mostly Broadway, songs and stories from the Great White Way and beyond. David performs with symphonies all over the country and has recorded a self-titled CD as well as "One Day." Last year he starred in Showstoppers at Wynn Las Vegas.
John Lloyd Young is best known for debuting the role of Frankie Valli in the Broadway musical Jersey Boys for which he received the Tony Award for Lead Actor in a Musical for his first Broadway performance. Young then reprised the role in London's West End production of the show as well as in director Clint Eastwood's film adaptation. John Lloyd Young returns to Feinstein's at the Nikko following four previous sold out engagements.
Locally adored and Internationally acclaimed jazz and blues singer Kim Nalley is joined by her band Tammy Hall (piano), Michael Zisman (bass), Kent Bryson (drums), and special guest legendary jazz tenor saxophonist Houston Person for a two-week engagement. Nalley will lend her three-and-a-half-octave range to a memorable set of jazz and blues standards.
Houston Person is the recipient of numerous Grammy nominations and the Eubie Blake Jazz Award and is known for his 30-year collaboration with vocalist Etta Jones. Person has performed on the albums of such luminaries as Lena Horne and Lou Rawls, and Kendrick Lamar sampled Person's music in "Mortal Man" from To Pimp a Butterfly.
At the August 9 performance, Denise Perrier will be a special guest. As a young artist, Ms. Perrier was discovered by Louis Armstrong singing in San Francisco's Fairmont Hotel. She has built a career thrilling audiences with her sultry contralto voice and emotional interpretations of the lyrics.
