WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
Mary Wilson, founding member of the Supremes, will make her Feinstein's at the Nikko debut in an intimate evening of both classic Supremes hits and favorites from the Great American Songbook, plus a few stories from her legendary career. It was the vision of musical stardom as a Detroit teenager that inspired Mary Wilson, Diana Ross, and Florence Ballard to create one of the most successful singing groups in recording history. Since then, Wilson has written bestselling autobiographies (Dreamgirl: My Life as a Supreme and Supreme Faith: Someday We'll Be Together), performed on stage and screen, lectured, and toured the world while continuing to be admired as a singer who set the standard for females in the recording industry. Signed by Motown founder Berry Gordy, four decades and 40 albums later, the Supremes had an unprecedented 12 number one hits, including five in a row. They were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1988.
