In 1999, Broadway's Shuler Hensley starred as Jud opposite Hugh Jackman as Curly in a London revival of Rodgers and Hammerstein's Oklahoma! at the Royal National Theatre. Each night, the two actors shared a scene in the smokehouse, but one night the smokehouse didn't show up. As the pair took the scene "outside," Hensley remembers not just an impromptu reimagining, but also a nervously clammy Hugh.
